This is a list of most of the deductible business expenses that tattooer and shop owners incur and the categories they belong to.
Included at the bottom is a Tax Worksheet that you can fill out and hand to your accountant to file your taxes.
This document was creating by Ryan Roi to make the lives of tattoo artists a bit easier.

Disclaimer: I am not a tax professional. I have however I have worked as a licensed financial advisor and worked with multiple tax strategists and CPA’s. Every CPA I've ever worked with gave me different instructions on how they wanted me to categorize my expenses. I've made this list to the best of my knowledge as a tattoo artist, shop owner and financial coach. Your accountant may disagree with me and if that is the case then I recommend doing it however they want. Either way this sheet will simplify the process.
Category: The main category for the expense, sometimes this is enough information and you don't need to select a subcategory but often you would look through the main category to get the more accurate sub category.
Sub-Category: It is best to select the most accurate category for the expense. sometimes it's ok to create your own category and have your accountant decide which label is best when you file your taxes with them. Your bookkeeping software may have many of these already created but some of these you may need to create yourself inside of the main category.
